Basil B
Comair not BA... Comair operates regional and local flights in South Africa. It flies as a British Airways franchise, with aircraft painted in BA livery http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-34639853

Basil B
Did the pilot know he had issues with his landing gear or was this a surprise on landing? From Aviation Herald: A passenger reported the captain announced prior to landing that they would need to land without left main gear. The aircraft subsequently touched down at an angle and skidded along the runway with sparks spraying off the left hand side. http://avherald.com/h?article=48e5e437&opt=
tigermonkey
Well at least the British Airways pilot did a good job landing the plane without having anyone killed or injured ! Well done to him. It was a Comair flight and not BA. Probably both pilots, Captain and First Officer, were involved in the landing. Either of "him" could be a man or a woman. Just saying
