Hiya everyone

I've got a situation & I need some advice regarding that. I've been working legally in thailand for the past 3 years. I had a valid work permit & I have no over stays. Upon the end of my contract which was exactly one month ago I came back to my home country & got a single entry tourist visa & now I'm flying back to Thailand tomorrow. I have made hotel reservations,I'll be having funds & a confirmed return ticket. I've heardone people being denied entry & it's really a matter of concern. My passport is full of thai visas. My question is

1) would it be any problem if I do come back on a tourist visa ?

2) Can immigration deny me entry even if I have met all the requirements?like hotel reservations return air ticket & adequite funds.

Imy sure these kind of queries won't be new to the experienced people out here but Im in a total blur

Regards

AV

I can see no reason why they would deny you entry to the country. You have a valid visa and that will be all you will need to show on entry.

Why do you think you might have a problem?

If you are in the USA right now, you might want to pick up the USD equivalent of 20,000 baht in traveler's checks (say $600, to cover any fluctuations in exchange rate). They cannot be purchased outside of the USA, and I'd rather be carrying those than cash on every visa crossing.

There have been rare cases reported here where a person with a history of stamps was denied entry based on not having that sum - even when they had a valid visa.

Knowing full well that the OP needs to get his 20k before entering Tland just want to point out that I found travelers checks in US currency at an SCB bank close to walking street in Pattaya. It was very difficult to find but it worked out OK.

Thanks a lot guys for such prompt responses..ubon Joe the only reason I'm concerned is that the duration between my non b & tourist visa is one month...secondly my passport is full of thai visa stamps & all the news that are flouting around its quite confusing..but it's thailand we're talking about..I do love this country but when it comes to legal system it's a pain in the headquarters :P
