Moving back to UK

Featured Replies

In the not-too-distant future I will be returning to the UK for good after many years in Pattaya. Does anyone know of a good firm which could pack and ship about 400 kilos of my stuff back to England? There is a firm on Sukhumvit between South and Central Roads, but they did not impress me.

Pickfords

Will be a lottery which company does least damage, let alone if you ever see your stuff again. Good luck though.

Maybe check out what this forum advertiser can do?

A way of defraying the costs of relocation is to carefully sort what you plan on exporting back to the UK into:

A - what can be taken as excess baggage.

B - what can be sent as unaccompanied baggage.

C - what can only be sent via a freight forwarder.

With regard to A, if you have elevated status with an air carrier, you may qualify for a higher free baggage allowance or benefit from a lower-cost (or free) Business or First class ticket with the attendant higher free baggage allowances.

Do a google search to see what services are available ex- Bangkok for B. Much cheaper than standard airline excess baggage charges.

C is reserved for heavy items, appliances, white goods, etc. Reconsider what you REALLY need to take back to UK. There are auction houses that will buy (most) of your unwanted stuff if it is in good condition.

Asian Tigers have moved us twice - once internationally and once domestically. Good service and no problems at all

AGS movers, based in Bangkok but have a nice website and an English lad runs the place.

The website will also give you a free quote.

All the best
