venturalaw
Has anyone any experiance of onward flights from airport, will arrive in a few days and onward to Phuket. I have 1.10mins for connection I too am arriving within a few days and have a 7 hour layover. I heard that the airport itself (not a hotel near the airport) has rooms available based upon 'hours' of one's stay - place to shower and take a napp. That would be perfect if I could find it. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Soju
Has anyone any experiance of onward flights from airport, will arrive in a few days and onward to Phuket. I have 1.10mins for connection I too am arriving within a few days and have a 7 hour layover. I heard that the airport itself (not a hotel near the airport) has rooms available based upon 'hours' of one's stay - place to shower and take a napp. That would be perfect if I could find it. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. The Louis Tavern Dayrooms are not yet open, so currently there is no place to stay airside unless you have access to one of the lounges that has showers and a place to nap. There are massage places airside that might be an alternative, though certainly more pricey than a dayroom would be. Regarding onward travel (international to domestic) the checkpoint to do this internally if you were transferring from an inbound THAI flight to an outbound THAI flight was not open on Friday night, but may be open by now. If you're flying domestic on THAI but internationally on another airline you still might be able to use the checkpoint, but not sure. Also it would be very questionable if you could have your baggage checked through under this situation. If you're travelling domestically on any other airline I think you have no option but to exit through immigration in BKK rather than Phuket, collect your baggage if you have any, and then check in at the domestic counter. If there are long queues, any delay in landing, or any delay in collecting your luggage you could likely miss your connection. If you're flying all segments on THAI, then they'd likely take care of you if your flight was late, perhaps even escorting you on one of the electric carts so that you don't miss your flight. saranagon
We flew from Khon Kaen to bkk Thai airways ,i informed them at check in i had only a couple of hours to make International flight to London,We were met at the arrival gate by a girl from Thai Air and escorted to baggage pick up point, which took around 45 minutes and then escorted right through to International check in ,If it wasn,t for the escort i doubt we would have made the check in for London All in all a great service from Thai Air. So I suggest to you to make connection for Domestic to Phuket ,try to organise an escort through the Airport
jingjoe
saranagon, did you fly on with Thai air from bkk to London? If so that would explain the extra help. I'm doing the same trip with Thai air, KKC - BKK allowing less then 2 hours to make a connection with Jetstar to Singapore. Fingers crossed.
