Phuket to organize International Boat Show

BANGKOK, 4 November 2015 (NNT) - Chawanee Thongroj, assistant to the Tourism and Sports Minister, said Phuket has accommodated over six million tourists, both Thai and foreign, yearly and the number has increased every year, with more than half the total number coming from Asia.

Phuket will readily become gateway to tourist attractions in other countries upon the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community by the end of this year, she said.

Meanwhile, Nopparat Methaweekulchai, director of Thailand Convention and Exhibition, an official sponsor of the Phuket International Boat Show, said the agency will support such regional exposition for products used in marine tourism. It will help increase business opportunities for manufacturers as well as exhibitors and attract prospective buyers.

Boating entrepreneurs representing over 50 brands of boating equipment, worth over three billion baht, and more than 150 manufacturing companies will join the Phuket International Boat Show. The event is expected to help increase tourism revenue by over five billion baht in 2016.
