aussiestyle1983
Here the ammount of pay you get usually is dertimed by your looks.....................sad isnt it. Native English speakers get the most pay, is english your first language? But your degree in English will be very helpful, you might not even need to do a TEFL course as English is your major. You should also be able to get a work permit.

PeaceBlondie
Both of the provincial capitals where I taught had teachers for English, Japanese, and Chinese. The teachers of Asian languages got around 8,000 baht per month, I think.
Ijustwannateach
There is a, um, thriving Chinese community in Thailand, especially Bangkok. It would help if you had some family contacts here, but they are not absolutely necessary. Study of Chinese is on the rise in schools, at the moment primarily by Thai-Chinese teachers. the swagman
I taught at a school that was provided two Chinese teachers by the Chinese government. You may want to look at their website or contact them. There is a big demand for Chinese and also a big push from your government. Good luck.
