Govt to speak to monk over FB posts

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan will send officers to speak to a Bangkok-based monk over his alleged Facebook posts that called for people to take revenge for the deaths of Buddhist monks in the deep South.

Prawit, also the defence minister, said the officers would speak to Phra Maha Apichat Punnajantho of Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram to "clarify for a better understanding".

The monk's Facebook message said that Buddhists had run out of their loving kindness after many monks were killed violently in the Muslim-majority southern border area. He called for a mosque to be burnt down for every Buddhist monk killed in the deep South.

Prawit said the monk's posts were not acceptable given the sensitivity required when dealing with the unrest in the deep South.

The monk suspended his Facebook at noon.

He claimed the Sangha Council of Thailand, the government and national security agencies had asked him to stop his campaign.

However, he added: "On the day Buddhist people call me, I will be back."

Yeah sure not anti-muslim just the truth. Have a look through this and see if you can see a great difference between them. Can you easily tell which are from the Quran because they are much more violent or harsh towards unbelievers.

Yu'p Old testament and new are both filled will violence, And No I'm not anti Muslim, I guess I have think twice for the author of the Quran being that he say's Muslims can have 4 wives while he had 9 or so and one of which was a 9 year old girl, (sic'o) he also dressed in woman's clothes, he said it's not ok to see a prostitutes' but you can have a temporary marriage and divorce then it's ok, he said it's not a sin to lie to non Muslim's and do not be friends with them, he said the earth is flat and that the sun sets in a murky pool of water,,, need I go on?

I and most people don't wage war on Muslim people that are simply not of the same faith.

The OP is about a monk calling for retribution for the deaths of monks instead of calling for peace. not about being anti Muslim or what ever.

By the way Lorn if you have read the Quran you will know that everything I said in correct, so how can that be "yeah not anti-Muslim"? get your facts right mate,

Calling for a "mosque to be burnt down for every Buddhist monk killed in the deep South" seems very clarifying to me. I would expect the monk to be sent for an attitude adjustment as a minimum but with Buddhism being the state religion the monk will get preferential treatment.

Show this shower that their violence will not be tolerated, time for them to move on to Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan or some other b...y stan.

Well I've never read the book but I have worked in the middle east, travelled in various Muslim countries and always been treated with the utmost hospitality and respect, and made good Muslim friends over the years, so I assume this must be what you're referring to.

Well I've never read the book but I have worked in the middle east, travelled in various Muslim countries and always been treated with the utmost hospitality and respect, and made good Muslim friends over the years, so I assume this must be what you're referring to.

I will refer you to the Quan, 3 :28. also 3 :54. (deceit). now go ask your Muslim friends about it. A good Muslim must keep to the Quran...

I know many good people that happen to be Muslim, no problem their religion their business. but I know where I stand with them.

Maybe the government just want to ask him for a list of Mosques he would like to recommend for closing down, permanently. Time to fight fire with fire as words do not impress Islamist's, only the ones in the Koran and Haddith and that just encourages violence.
