PATTAYA: -- In the early hours of Thursday a 36 year old woman reported an armed robbery which occurred in the Nong Pla Lai area of East Pattaya.

Khun Tasanee presented herself at Nongprue Police Station and told Police that she was driving her bike back home after finishing work nearby when two men on a motorbike approached from the rear and cut her off on the road, forcing her to stop her bike in front of the Porntaerp Village.

The passenger on the bike approached Khun Tasanee and was armed with a gun which he placed on the side of her head and told her to hand over all cash and valuables in her possession or she would be killed.

Big pinch of salt needed here to go with this story, why would a gunman commit such a huge offence with

a gun in broad daylight, only to get some meager valuables from a woman on a motorbike

and not a bigger, more lucrative target? something not 100% kosher here with the women

story...

Don't think you know much about Thailand or pattaya

If you think this is a BS story.

I believe it, plenty of times over the years this has gone on.

in and around Pattaya.

Woman killed on walking street, foreigners falling off high rises, man beat up outside go go bar, gun held against head.... Sounds like the place to be.

When caught they might get a 500 baht fine if they say sorry ,this is why it keeps happening ,what about some real punishment

She might have blown all her money playing cards and needs a story for her husband.

Nong Pla Lai is not really Eastern Pattaya, more to the North.

Anybody know exactly where this happened, I couldn't find this village and do not know it....... I live in the area.

Assuming it was outside one of several Ponthep Garden Ville villages, there are several in Nongplalai which indeed is the north-end of the 'Darkside'. If the nearest police station was the Nongpru one, that may give a clue to the PGV village where this incident occurred. The guys escaping 'in the direction of Rayong' is a bit vague as none of these villages are on a major highway to Rayong as such. They probably just headed south and could have gone anywhere really.

Plenty of drug dealers in HUYyai, and kids come from Rayong to steal bikes, sell drugs etc etc

Read the story again - "early hours" indicates sometime after midnight, when it's dark.

Thai ( and American or European or ....) prisons are filled with people getting real punishment. When they get out after being shown the error of their ways, the majority go back to committing crimes.

When caught they might get a 500 baht fine if they say sorry ...

Other than having an active imagination, how familiar are you with the criminal justice system here. An amazing number of Thai Visa posters seem to have a great deal of insight into what happens with the police and courts here. Probably from long hours watching episodes of CSI-Pattaya.

Why are Thai jails over-crowded if saying "sorry" magically gets you a free pass?

I'm curious about who the rather androgynous man or woman is who is taking the photo of the robbery victim? She also appears prominently in the photo of the Australian drunk who created problems at the Oasis go-go on a previous thread.

Crimes like this appear to be happing in Pattaya more and more and more. Meanwhile I seldom read about such in Hua Hin and Chiang Mai. Not that it doesn't happen in these cites also ... just to a much less degree.

Or simply look at the photo's.

Looks dark outside the window with a streetlight on with the lady in the police station at the time.

This isn't a dating site, although i'm sure if you ask nicely someone will give you his/her phone number.

so you just had a gun to your head and you think you are going to die, and now some morons are in the police station standing around you with cameras.

Good powers of observation....i thought i recognised the gollywog hairdo....think its a bloke....initially i thought it was just a sewer rat fm soi buakhao...but new evidence is pointing to the fact that he might be official cop photographer.

PS. Where is the obligatory pic of her pointing her finger at her temple?
