PATTANI: Five homemade bombs went off at five different places in Pattani before midnight and early Saturday causing damages to several vehicles and homes of residents.

However nobody was injured in the coordinated bomb explosions that were detonated by both mobile phones and radio transmitters.

Security forces which comprise soldiers, police, district officials and civilian volunteers sealed off several bomb explosion scenes this morning as there might be unexploded bombs hidden after five went off before midnight last night and before dawn today.

Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) police control separately combed several suspected areas and roads this morning before allowing traffic to go as usual late today.

Pattani police chief Pol Maj Gen Thanongsak Wangsupa said the first bomb exploded in the Pattani municipal area shortly before midnight.

Security forces spotted a Honda Wave motorcycle parked unattended in front of Sky Living apartment on Charoenpradit road.

A thorough check of the vehicle’s license number plate did not match with the official registration number.

The area was later sealed as security officials believed it might be a motorcycle bomb.

As security vehicles passed the suspected motorbike in order to seal the road off incoming traffic at the other end, the bomb hidden in the motorbike was detonated.

However, no security personnel on the vehicles were hurt.

But several houses had their glass windows, neon signboards, doors, broken by the explosion, including a Toyota sedan.

Ten minutes after, a second bomb planted at a flower pot also went off, about 30 metres from the first scene, near a foodshop.

The third bomb happened opposite the first scene at 1 am damaging a shop and a motorcycle, while the fourth explosion took place outside the town on the road from Pattani to Hat Yai.

The fifth bomb exploded six metres from the scene of the second explosion an hour later.

The coordinated bomb explosions in Pattani prompted security officials in other commercial and tourism towns to increase more road blocks to check all passing vehicles.

They said the five explosions in Pattani were the work of teenagers riding motorcycles around the town to plant bombs in order to create disturbances.

Security officials were looking through all video cameras to hunt for these young perpetrators for prosecution.

When are Governments going to realise that these people are ALL potential terrorists. Germany will live to regret taking in so many Muslims.

No such incidents would happen if Thailand adopts what the Burmese are doing right now. Does anyone ever heard such bombing happened in Burma?

Lol. Regarding Burma: the UN and various NGOs are screaming "Islamic Haters" as loud as they can. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that where there is Islam, there are problems, not just in this day and age, look at it historically. Myanmar is simply protecting their national interests and security. The populace doesn't want to import a group of people that tend to bring bombings, genocide, and cultural isolationism/supremacism with them wherever they go.

"We migrate to your country. You assimilate into our Islamic culture or die". Yeah, go figure. Germany, Sweden, UK, and the other socialist nanny-states that are handing out entitlements to 'refugees' are going to regret it in the near future. Kiss their indigenous cultures goodbye, and say hello to a perpetual cycle of violence. I can't blame Burma/Myanmar, Thailand, China, or any other country that considers Islamic migration as a threat to their national security. In the future they will just point to Europe and say, "See. We don't want that to happen in our countries".

Yes! 40 years of a civil war, that you apparently missed. Sorry to rain on your "prejudice" parade, but FYI - the Muslims were not, and remain not, the root cause of the social problems, in either country. whistling.gif

It is better for one to remain silent, and let the world believe one to be ignorant of the facts, than to voice a (misinformed) prejudicial opinion! Thereby removing all doubt.coffee1.gif

Why not spend less time on the TVF, and more time researching the facts, prior to posting your considered opinions? There's a valid reason why the UN is sreaming (as you put it) "Islamic Haters".coffee1.gif
