Jai Dee Posted October 4, 2006 Share Posted October 4, 2006 Council for National Security orders transfer of National Park Department chief to PM's Office The Council for National Security has ordered for an urgent transfer of National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department Director-General Damrong Phidet (ดำรงค์ พิเดช) to the Office of the Prime Minister. Mr. Pittiphong Phungboon Na Ayutthaya (ปีติพงศ์ พึ่งบุญ ณ อยุธยา), the Permanent Secretary to the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry, revealed that the Council for National Security Chairman Sonthi Boonyaratglin (สนธิ บุญยรัตกลิน) has issued an order for the transfer of Mr. Damrong to work at the Office of the Prime Minister, effective from October 1st onwards. Mr. Pittiphong said Mr. Damrong has already acknowledged the order, and he also does not know the reason behind the transfer. The top position at the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department will be taken by the former holder of that position, Mr. Somchai Phiensathaphorn (สมชัย เพียรสถาพร), currently Acting director-general of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources. Mr. Somchai's post will be taken by Acting deputy director-general of the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department Samran Rakchart (สำราญ รักชาติ).
