Large snake spotted in river

Featured Replies

Just had lunch by the river in Phimai. Large snake swam passed.Head the size of a mans fist and greyish brown in colour. After it passed it swam towards the bank. I did not pursue the matter further.

Any idea's.

Kids swim in the river

sorry no pics

Python or Boa Constrictor would be the two suspects.

Can they swim?w00t.gif

Was going to look that up. Lots of photos of Pythons swimming, which I was aware of, but not so many of Boas. So maybe Burmese Python is the correct answer. biggrin.png

Well the Burmese pythons have infested the Everglades so I guess they do swim.

Better keep children and pets away from that river....

King Cobras can be that colour, and I believe they can swim. There was a discovery programme on them.

I saw PLENTY of them (some dead some alive) in the Irrawaddy in the Mandalay area during rainy season
