i was just looking at the map and Prakhanong Station is NOT in Prakhanong!!!

anyone know why ?

(on the map below, the Zone of Prakhanong is shaded darker). but the BTS station is NOT in this zone.

What is the beef ?

Possibly it was decided that it was better dsited where it is as the klong had proved a natural barrier to the development along that strip. It also could serve Bangkok University which may have added to it's demand. Also previously Prakanong covered what is now three districts and I am not sure if at that time the station was in Prakanong or not.

Get a different map. I live 5 minutes from Phra Khanong BTS, opposite Phra Khanong post office and my postal address is Phra Khanong.

The map you've posted shows that it's not in เขต (district) Phrakhanong but it is in the middle of แขวง (subdistrict) Phrakhanong.

If you mention Phrakhanong to most people, they'll think of the area where the BTS station and post office are, Soi 71 etc.

So the question should be why doesn't Phrakhanong District on your map include Phrakhanong?

Likewise, your shaded area doesn't include Phra Khanong Police Station which is slightly north of BTS On Nut
