Hi,

I have a work permit valid until August 2016. Immigration refused to extend my Non-B until this date. My non-B will expire at the end of this month. I will leave the country and get my non-o marriage visa.

Will my work permit still be valid?

Cheers

Since you will be getting the non-o based upon marriage your work permit will remain valid.

After getting the non-o visa you can apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage if your salary is 40k baht or more.or by showing 400k baht in the bank for 2 months.

Yep, it's the extension that is about to expire. Was just hoping i didnt have to go through the whole WP process again as I'll be still working at the same place.

If you qualify you could also apply for an extension of stay based on marriage directly (so without applying for a non-O visa abroad first). I did it last month at CW (i.e. change reason for extension from work to marriage). In addition to the regular documents needed for an extension based on marriage they asked for a letter from my employer confirming that I still work with them (I guess to check if I had not 'overstayed' my previous extension based on work). No impact on WP.

Thanks a lot UbonJoe, i plan to apply for the extension once i obtain the Non-O. biggrin.png

I went directly from non-B to extension of stay based on marriage.

Never had an non-O.
