jack2964 Posted November 12, 2015 Share Posted November 12, 2015 Been out shooting several hundred pics and was in the process of culling on my laptop as I often do using Irfanview. Only managed a few and suddenly Irfanview hung up and I waited till it became functional again but then I couldn't view any more files. reinserting CF card causes pop-up msg to say reformat card. SoiBiker Posted November 12, 2015 Share Posted November 12, 2015 I'd do as little as possible to the card itself to avoid any further data loss. Make a bit-for-bit image of it using something like dd, then attempt to recover the filesystem from that using the appropriate tools for whichever filesystem it's formatted with. Came back with 'Unable to determine file system type'. Thanks MJCM. Wouldn't know where to start with Soi Biker's suggestion. Thanks anyway.
