BANGKOK, 15 November 2015 (NNT) – The government is keeping a close eye on the attacks in France and has ordered all agencies to tighten security measures to ensure safety for the public.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Major General Weerachon Sukhontapatipak said the government is closely monitoring the situation in Paris, adding that the government has not received any report of abnormalities in Thailand. He said Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has asked all agencies to step up their security measures, while asking the public to remain calm. In addition, the prime minister has also asked the media to avoid presenting content that might affect national security. The deputy government spokesman said the government is ready to cooperate with various nations in fighting terrorism and would like to send moral support to the government and people of France.

Meanwhile, THAI Vice President for Aviation Safety, Security and Standards, Flt Lt Pratana Patanasiri said the Charles de Gaulle Airport continues to operate normally. He said that Thai Airways has not canceled the Bangkok-Paris flights, adding that the carrier also has strict security measures.

The Interior Minister has urgently ordered governors of all provinces to step up security measures in government related and crowded areas. In addition, security officials have been deployed to various areas, geared with equipment to prevent unrest.

Yes, better to be well prepared if anything terrible like the shrine bombing happens again. But how can you stop a backpack bomber? Materials for bomb making that can be purchased such as fertilizer, should be strickly controlled. Bomb making viral videos must be banned from media sharing sites such as youtube. A hotline should be set up to report suspious activity. Neighbourhood watch schemes could also be setup.

The Paris attacks have deeply shocked the world especially Thai people who have just got over the deadly Earwin Shrine bombing. R.I.P To all victims

After the shrine bombing, and the debacle of the R.T.P. You had better start praying?

To which God?

The very fact, that the Thai Government keeps a close eye on the situation in France puts my mind at ease. I feel so much safer already.

Cheers.

Fixed.

The deputy government spokesman said the government is ready to cooperate with various nations in fighting terrorism.....

Perhaps a better option is for the Thai government is to ask for help in fighting terrorism within Thailand!

By the way, where is France?

Yes, cant fix terrorism related problems at home so we will watch them in other countries.

The PM should note how a real police force responds and not the total cockup way in which the RTP act.

The French police killed 7 and are now looking for the 8th terrorist.

The Thai police would have killed none and now be looking to fit up a number of people.

The French government have said and done all the right things.

The Thai government would have told the world not to worry and tourist numbers were up.

Can one ask why the Thai government are keeping an eye on Paris because they will take no notice of what they are doing as it 'isn't the Thai way'

sad and disgusting, but as we know how they act in the past, true.

Thai government keeps a close eye on the situation France..

What dose it even mean keep a close eye? like you're sending troops

to fight there? or the aircraft carrier and perhaps a submarine or two

that you're planning to buy? Thailand doesn't have dog in this race

at Thailand never sent even one solder to fight ISIS, so what eye

are they closing on exactly?

wow, France must be relieved... coffee1.gif

Um, not quite. They blew themselves up, not killed by the French police.

The French Police killed one, the rest blew themselves up.

The Erawan Shrine bombing was quite minor.

Just imagine an attack on Nana, Chatuchak, night bazaar and walking st markets in Chiang Mai, it would be carnage.

Wow! This may spur immigration to demand daily TM 30s but they will, of course, be the responsibility of the residents, not the property owners. Property owners are not so easy to beat up on.

Or yes and what would they contribute. Lets guess based on previous history 0

Paying attention to what goes om outside LoS???.....pull the other one.

They can send some officials on a jolly fact finding mission, i can see the queue starting already.

Six terrorists blew themselves up in France. Police force shot one. The eighth terrorist left the country unimpeded in exactly the same way that that they arrived as illegal migrants or crossed the border from Belgium. One was a local. Welcome to the new Europe. Thank you Ms Merkel for inviting them to invade Europe. None vetted, no identification needed, no border control, AKM and ammunition freely available. Fortress Europe? I think not . Soft targets? I think so. Soon this will become so common that it will hardly make the news. And you did this all by yourself Europe. RIP to the innocents that are no longer protected by inept policy, open border control and Islam loving hand washers. You will receive what you have allowed.

Can they take their wives, Paris has a reputation for wonderful ' chopping ' ?

I was down at Nana Plaza the night of the attack. I just wanted to see if the security had been beefed up like I had read somewhere earlier that day.

No way!. The prostitutes where still steaming in and out. Regulars and tourist were pay no attention to anything other than the show.

They had two diffuses at the entrance checking IDs of girl that looked like they might be underage.

I saw several young men that looked like they were from the Middle east looking quickly around like they were casing the place,

And I did not see....one.... policeman.

I'm sure if someone set a backpack down there, no one would see it..

Keeping a close eye translates to how can we make a baht on this in Thai.
