Pattaya Police conduct safety patrol hours after French Terror Attacks



PATTAYA: -- Orders came from Senior Police in Bangkok at the weekend to run high-profile security patrols in Tourist destinations around Thailand following the deadly attacks in France on Friday and in Pattaya, Police began their patrol on Walking Street.

We joined one of the patrols at 4am on Sunday Morning as a team of Pattaya Police Officers and Police Volunteers entered Walking Street and, to their surprise, many venues which should have closed some hours earlier, were still open and selling alcoholic beverages.

Police shut down a number of venues, including Lucifer’s Discotheque, JP Bar and Linda Bar and arrested managers of each venue.

' High Profile Police Security Patrols ' who are SURPRISED to find venues that should be closed still open at 0400 !

Security patrols , oh that must have been the copper i saw walking down the street talking on his phone the other day , he was very smart though ,white gloves and all .

Begs the question "Why aren't police on patrol EVERY day?"

Phew, I feel greatly relieved to know the crack Royal Thai Police are on the job but .......I still won't go where there are more than 4 people !

Did anyone see the line up of police officers getting their picture taken today on sukhumvit , what a bunch ,if they are the fattest ,so rry finest they can muster ,God help Pattaya

JP bar was shut at 4pm!!!! it does not get customers till 5am usually

who cares ,, Why shouldn't they be open thats why i like Thailand I want freedom late hours parties or why would i go there except for fun how is closing early going to protect anyone what a bunch of BS

They didn't get into the stadium, did they? I wonder why... oh, security. Unless you want to live somewhere like North Korea, these things are part of the cost of living in an open society. Sad but true.

So after the Bangkok Bombing, security was relaxed ? I thought the charter was to protect tourists at all times.

If you are looking for Muslim terrorists then do so. But do not close down bars or even bother with any minor infringement . That is how you lose the war on Muslim terrorists - something similar is happening in the UK. Valid stop and searches by the police looking for knives and guns have become discredited when used to bust people for drugs. So the Bill have lost the support and gained the contempt of the community who BTW have the right to vote and sit on juries.

It possibly never occurred to the RPT , but , ever thought of doing a patrol a few hours before a terror attack..........

From my recent observation on Beach Road if the the 'Ters' are on the back of motor bikes they will be apprehended, especially if they are not wearing crash helmets.
