BANGKOK: -- Former secretary-general of House of Representatives Mr Chare Panpruang is facing disciplinary investigation for alleged corruption in connection with the construction of the new parliament building.

Deputy secretary-general of the House of Representatives Mrs Saithip Chavalitthawil said the fact-finding panel chaired by Mrs Wararat Atipaet, the Senate secretary-general had faulted Mr Chare as charged by the building constructer, Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Plc.

An informed parliamentary source said that Mr Chare’s alleted misconduct concerned the removal of about 200,000 cubic metres of soil from the construction site to the site of a private company instead of being donated for public use.

Besides Mr Chare who is facing a disciplinary probe, other officials suspected to be involved in the alleged misconduct will also be investigated, said Mrs Saithip.

Ah, the new Parliament building,I wondered how that was going along,

right on target it seems,ANYTHING involving Government money (well

the taxpayers),is always going to have an element of ,shall we say

sharing in it,or commissions, that sounds better than what it is.
