Shogun oranges in Betong chosen as top OTOP product

Shogun oranges from Betong District have been chosen to be the best OTOP products for this year in the southern province of Yala.

Mr. Apinan Suetanuwong (อภินันท์ ซื่อธานุวงศ์), the District Chief of Betong, revealed that the OTOP sub-committee in the district has selected Shogun oranges to be the top local products in 2006 of Yala. The locals in Betong have great pride in their products. In addition, three local products in Yala are categorized as five-star products, which are Shogun oranges from Betong, daggers from Raman, and scarves from Muang.

Mrs. Pipat Rattana, the Development Officer in Betong, said Shogun oranges have an outstanding quality and they can be very competitive in the global market.

Furthermore, the overall economy in Betong will be improved as people would earn more revenues and more job opportunities would be created.
