Don Mueang airport’s terminal 2 to open in December

BANGKOK: Renovation of Don Mueang airport’s passenger terminal 2 is 91.55 percent completed and is scheduled to open within December 2015.

Currently, Don Mueang airport accommodates an average of 90,000-93,000 passengers and 650 flights per day. The passenger terminal 2 will help reduce the density of passengers at the terminal 1. Given the new terminal, Don Mueang airport will be able to accommodate about 30 million passengers per year.

The Terminal 2 building at the airport will serve up to 70 percent of domestic passengers. At initial stage, it will be used by several airlines, namely Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, Lion Air, Thai Airways and Thai Smile.

From November 27, 2015, Don Mueang airport will launch Airport LimoBus Express service with 33 seats. Wireless Internet access will be provided on the bus.

One bus route runs between the airport, Ploenchit area and Lumpini Park and the other route between the airport and Khao Sarn Road.

91.5555% lol

Need room for Xiamen, Tianjiang, Sichuan, Shenzhen, Shandong, Haininan and Juneyeo airlines et al.

Hope DM works.

"Renovation of Don Mueang airport’s passenger terminal 2 is 91.55 percent..."

It's a fact that 82.27864366% of all statistics are fabricated.

Never mind the terminal...what about parking?

May the blokes from Berlin can have a look how it is done...

How about a nice luxury express bus between the airports?

so the old terminal 1 will be for international flights?...package tours from malaysia and china perhaps.

Would be great to see some attention given to the way taxi's work there, always a mess on the odd occasion I have used that airport. I like travelling with AirAsia however operating out of DM, I have not taken them in years.

Let's hope so. It would be great to have 2 international airports in Bangkok. Great for travellers, great for businesses, great for Thailand. It would make Thais proud. "You see that plane son, you could be a pilot one day", or an air hostess. Airlines would employ more local Thai people to work there. Its the best idea I have seen lately. Well done poster.

Don Mueng has become the loso bangkok airport. Akin to a city bus terminal. There was a time when flying was an exciting, special experience. DM is now like a cattle market. Maybe the government needs to improve DM and put the special back into flying?

Yes, yes, well said. Improve now! Competition between the 2 international airports will help.

I doubt the "renovated" DMK Terminal 2 will be providing the same safety standards as BER

Plus: DMK Terminal 2 did already exist and only needed a facelift (or faeces-lift, in case it is used by Chinese Airlines and travellers mostly).

Having said that, no doubt that it is extremely embarrassing what is going on at the new BER Airport
