Justice Ministry to explore legal means to deal with student violence



BANGKOK: The Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection and relevant agencies will be invited for a meeting to discuss student violence problem.

Justice Minister Paiboon Kumchaya said Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha, at the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, expressed concern about student violence and instructed the Justice Ministry to explore legal means to cope with the problem.

He said he had informed Education Minister Dapong Rattanasuwan about a meeting planned for the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection and relevant agencies to discuss whether existing laws should be amended or new laws to be introduced to deal more effectively with student violence.

No, why should the government interfere with the running of a school. Leave the disciplining to the teachers. This paranoia in the government at the moment over an uprising is going too far IMO. Who is giving these orders? Old men it sounds like paranoid about teenage rebels. I was a rebel once too, you grow up and get over it. Unbelievable how this new government governes.

Yes, they need to take a look at schools where the staff encourage students to act up in the name of the school's ' face ' and so called reputation.

Did you kill people in the name of your school. Did you have running gang fights in the streets. Did you make or buy weapons to do these things?

The one thing I have noticed is these teenagersd, mine included , have an adversion to physical labor demanding

tasks. They do not want to go out in the heat of the day, bright sunshine, or the rain. This last description, of course, depends on if its something they want to do or not.

Thus make up work crews that are assigned tasks that hekp the community. Maybe a time in a military type boot camp. There are lots of ways to approach a desired behavioral change of individuals, which can turn out a result that benifets everyone. It does not achieve 100% success but most would be happy with a 80 to 90 %.
