NRSA, CDC on good terms

BANGKOK, 28 November 2015 (NNT) – According to a member of the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA), although the reform body and the Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) have different opinions regarding the composition of members of parliament (MPs), both agencies are still on good terms.

Seri Suwanpanont, the chairperson of the NRSA’s political reform committee, said his committee had been working on a political reform plan which needs to be submitted to the NRSA main panel by December 9th. In addition, he said the committee was also conducting a study on effective solutions to political problems.

As for suggestions to be made to the CDC, he said the committee would only give the drafting team an overview of what the committee thinks a constitution should look like, adding that the details of each provision should and must be incorporated into organic laws.

Despite different viewpoints on the composition of MPs, Mr Seri said there are no hard feelings between the political reform committee and the CDC.

The committee earlier proposed to the charter writing body that the party-list system be terminated in order to prevent vote buying and an intervention from outsiders.

"Good terms"?, "No hard feelings"?...............until these morons understand that politics is about properly debating ideas and compromise and NOT about "friend-or-foe" there is no hope for any kind of improvement in the Thai condition, I'm afraid.

I am sure that the NCPO are A-OK with the NRSA and the CDC being on the same page.

Whether the MPs of the TRT (or whatever acronym they invent) and the MPs of the DPT are equally in accord remains to be seen.
