Mystery surrounds kidnapping of foreign man in Pattaya

The real question here is why this was "allowed" to make the news...usually a covert police thug operation is handled quietly behind the scenes...very peculiar...Thailand is ripe for a movie: "Thai Godfather"...and let them bump each other off trying to get the leading role...wai2.gif

Agreed, unless the police were total incompetents. Not unusual.

If this was a bikie pay back I doubt they would have done the whole grab thing.

They would have just whacked him and blamed it on the locals. Unless there was a LOT of cash to be grabbed.

This smells more like a grab and run to Cambodia or even Vietnam and then out through the embassy.

Bikies don't have that sort of border access.

Anyway, just a thought.

Forget the police. Schneider's crew will know who it is and seek their own kind of justice.

They are all scumbags. Obviously, some dirty quarrel in their own world has to be played out to the end. Most likely in Thailand for business back home.

"a pool of blood next to a Casio Wrist Watch, an extendable Baton, 3 9mm bullets, tape and a sponge"

kind of looks like the guy wanted to "disappear" so he left "telltale" clues.

I find it hard to believe they left bullets, (not bullet casings) tape and a sponge at the scene, something weird about this.

Sooo....Apart from the Russian, Dutch, Belgian and British Mafia in Pattaya, there is now also a Aussie Mafia?

Although the British Mafia is mostly noted for sitting in British pubs, drinking British Beer and watching British Football.....Along with the occasional Fish and chips platter.....

It's good to see that the bar stool crime scene investigators (BS-CSI) are still active here at Drama Central.

Mine one was a 150 pounds...not cheap in my world.....

So am I to assume that thugs who wear masks are foreigners and not Thais ? The police will have this case wrapped up in no time if they have already worked that out. The police have done a wonderful job so far, they found traces of blood on the ground ( not surprising after someone just had a hell of a kicking ) , a gun magazine ( mmmm, I wonder if there may be some prints on there ) , a steel baton ( and maybe prints on this too) , three 9 mm cartridges ( used or unused, someone being careless dropping unused ones about the place) , a black cab ( oh that's where the Vigo went , wonder if they looked in the back of the cab for the victim ) , a Casio wristwatch ( cheap crap) , and adhesive tape at the scene ( for putting up the wanted posters )

You hurt mé feelings. Casio Wristwatch is NOT cheap crap! Depends on the model... they make mechanic automatic

Former Hells Angels gang member kidnapped from his home in Thailand
Lindsay Murdoch

Bangkok: A former Australian Hells Angles motorcycle gang member has been beaten unconscious and kidnapped at gunpoint from his home in Thailand.

Five masked men drove 38-year-old Wayne Rodney Schneider away in the back of a pick-up truck in the seaside tourist city of Pattaya, according to Thai media reports. Witnesses said the kidnappers appeared to be foreigners.

Blood and bullet casings were found at Mr Schneider's home in the Jomtien Park Villas housing estate after the kidnapping about 5am on Monday, Bangkok time.

Thai police suspect the leader of the kidnap gang is an Australian who is known to Mr Schneider.

Kidnapped victim in Pattaya is Australian Hells Angels motorcycle gang member

PATTAYA foreigner who was beaten unconsciously and dragged into a pickup truck by a foreign gang from Jomtien Park Villas housing estate in a kidnap attempt yesterday morning has been identified as a former Australian Hells Angles motorcycle gang member.

The man is identified as 38-year-old Wayne Rodney Schneider.

He was kidnapped by five masked men driving in a pick-up truck in the seaside tourist city of Pattaya, according to Phuketwan website quoting Thai media as reporting this morning.

Phuketwan said blood and bullet casings were found at Schneider’s home in the Jomtien Park Villas housing estate after the kidnapping about 5 am on Monday.

Pattaya police suspect the leader of the kidnap gang is an Australian who is known to Mr Schneider.

According to Phuketwan, Thai police have been investigating the activities of Australian bikie gang members who appear to have extensive business interests in the country.

Earlier yesterday two security guards stationed at the entry to the housing estate told police they heard a cry for help and saw five men with scarves tied across their faces beating Mr Schneider, who was investigated for years by an organised-crime taskforce in New South Wales.

Meanwhile Bangkok Post reported today that Amad Malkoun, 52, an Australian passport holder of Lebanese origin, went out drinking with Mr Schneider and a 26 year-old Australian associate on Sunday night.

He said he met the younger man at the house and the three men went drinking together on Sunday night.

Mr Malkoun was quoted as saying he felt ill and came home early, he talked to Mr Schneider and the other man for a short time when they returned to the house and continued their drinking.

But Mr Malkoun said he learned from police that Mr Schneider had been kidnapped only after he awoke.

Pattaya has long been known as a hideout for criminal networks, including some from Australia. The city where corruption is known to be endemic has a vast red-light area.

It is not known how long Mr Schneider has been living in the city.

He has had a turbulent history in Australia where in 2007 he was for 18 months on NSW’s “most wanted” list over the shooting of a bouncer in the knee cap outside the Sapphire Suite nightclub in Kings Cross in 2006.

He surrendered to police and denied he was among a group of eight men claiming to be Hells Angels who tried to force their way into the club.

In 2009, NSW police confiscated more than $200,000 in betting chips and plaques from Melbourne’s Crown Casino when they intercepted Mr Schneider in a vehicle in Sydney.

Police claimed the chips were suspected to be the proceeds of a crime.

But Mr Schneider told police he won the chips in a big-punting spree with other Hells Angels at the casino’s exclusive high roller rooms, according to Bangkok Post and Phuketwan.

My mate lives in this village. The security is a joke. Theyre normally asleep as soon as it gets dark. Have to blow the car horn to get their attention for them to open the gate going in and coming out. They let anyone in, no request for ID or anything.

For 8000 per month or whatever pittance they earn, I would sleep too.

I hope no "Robbers" read this post then for the sake of the tenants......ours are SAS trained with machine gun posts...lol

Media saying that the abducted guy was an Australian criminal living in pattaya with some of his 'mates'.

There is a big problem in Melbourne with party ice and meth. Looks like someone didnt run far enough to get away from enemies.

Violent criminals always fear getting caught by other violent criminals not the cops.

They are likely paid more than they earn.

Security often seems like some way of giving a friend or relative a job.

Try Google, the chap has a little history, UFC fighter, family history etc

You mean the suspect (Antonio)?

For the victim (Wayne Schneider) try "Wayne Schneider hells angel".

Quite sure its him. From NSW, 31 y in 2009, 34 y in 2012 (38 today due to the report, well possible).

He has an impressive history too (drugs charges, murder charges etc. pp.).

I guess the gentlemen have a little dispute to settle.

Sure it is him. One more violent criminal removed from Pattaya.

Is this when and where the "good riddance" factor kicks in?

Some colorful characters there.

The Amad Malkoun guy ( if its him) is also famous in australia apparently, former Comanchero bikie and also massively criminal.

Why does thailand let so many criminals into their country ? it was like when the Outlaws was buying up Nana plaza in Bangkok, pretty insane to let that many crazy violent types do whatever they wanna do in a foreign country, even saw them arriving with police one time as motorcade.

And people - no need to comment on the security thing of the apartment, anyone who has lived in this part of the world for even a short time knows its non existing, so cant really be a suprise to anyone that the security didnt work, and hardly also not the job of some low paid security guys to start fighting with some mafia og bikie guys with guns.

Seems they were all acquitted of various offences. Why blame Thai immigration? Seems more to the point as to why Australia let them leave. Possibly couldn't make a conviction stick, let them leave, don't let them back so someone else's problem.
