bangkokfrog
Isn't this woeful reporting. Not a single source given for the various claims made! Or is it that if the NCPO tells us something, it has to be true as our fearless leader would never lie. Do Thai people anywhere really believe this kind of drivel? Nobb
The only reason is confident is because they are the the ones being attacked and never attack the muslim attackers. They do not want to engage them in battle and piss them off. But they only see this as a sign of weakness and will prepare to turn Buddhist into muslims. Do not worry about the color of shirts but only on your true danger!

Loved this sentence... especially "preparing to support them in becoming a family with good morals... What, they're going to start from the bottom with this new fangled morals thing. Srikcir
"The government is confident it is on the right path towards solving problems in the southern border provinces." It set up a committee to expedite problem solving, blah, blah, blah. More of the same failed military policies that avoid the fundamental problem causing the conflict: Stumbling at the very outset, The Nation 2015-09-13 - "... the current crop of junta is too full of themselves and don't seem to realise that their inflated ego, as well as their ethno-centric nation-state construct, is costing the lives of their own men, as well as innocent bystanders. More than 6,000 have died from this wave of insurgency violence that has been in full swing since January 2004.The junta and the future government of Bangkok can talk to the armed separatists all they want - even into the next life, as Prayut said he was willing to do.But if they don't realise that their state policy of assimilation is the problem, then there is not much hope for peace." Lannig
With, as strange as it seems when I look around me, according to OECD average income per capita in Thailand was between 14,000 and 21,000 bahts/month in 2012 (source: http://www.oecd.org/site/seao/Thailand.pdf) and per household at 18,300 bahts in 2007 (same). So I'd assume that based on these figures, nowadays average income per household should be significantly over 20,000 bahts/month. This would make the southern region below average. If someone finds better stats, please share.
