Thai embassy in Vientiane or Royal Thai Consulate General in Savannakhet for Visa?

Recommended Posts

I live south of Phitsanulok, and it looks like Vientiane would be easier to go to then Savannakhet by the road map...

I am going for my one year non imm 'O' based upon marriage.

What do you think? I have never been to Vientiane or Savannakhet.

Any info will help.....

According to the Thai Consulate Vientiane, , you may acquire your Non O there, make sure you read the instructions carefully though as they can be picky at times. Here is the link if needed, http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/en/consular/visa.php

The OP wants a 1 year non 'O'. They are only available to Laotians or residents. The OP can only get a single entry (3 month) visa in Vientiane.

You misunderstood what you read !

"NON-IMMIGRANT ( Multiple Entries ) 5,000 Thai Baht (ONLY for Resident Applicants)" ***

That means no multiple entry visas are issued to those who are not legally resident in Laos !

Also just for your information a "one year non imm 'O' based upon marriage." is a multiple entry visa

Savannaket! Less people and and they are more easy to work with. Last time to Vientiane I had 2 documents with apparently different spelling in Thai (I can't read Thai) and was therefor denied visa, I had no problem getting a visa in Savannaket with the same documents!?

Either direct bus to Mukdahan (overnight bus, leaves about 21:00 (Mae Sot-Mukdahan) with Phetpraserth from the new bus station) or Phitsanulok-Kong Kaen-Mukdahan. Last week I did basically the same trip, direct bus to Mukdahan from Sukhothai. As we got our passports back at 16:00 the same day (because of the holidays) the direct bus was already gone (17:00 from Mukdahan) when I arrived at the bus station so I had to do the Mukdahan-Kong Kaen-Phittsanulok-Sukhothai version going back.
