October 14, 200619 yr Today I went up to Ban Yang with a team from Chiang Mai News and distributed supplies we had purchased for the locals. The rescue effort is in full swing (with the Thai Army) and I was told there are 7 confirmed fatalities and something like 27 people missing. The task is huge and people need household items (e.g cooking utensils). The devastation is terrible.
