PHUKET: -- The island's top cop has ordered an investigation into the reckless driving of an alleged uniformed police officer, who was caught on video driving erratically near the Samkong Underpass construction site on Tuesday.

The video clip, which was posted via Facebook user ‘Kor Phom-chu-night-ni’, shows a vehicle continuously honking its horn while dangerously passing other cars at the notoriously hazardous construction site.

Phuket Provincial Police Commander Teeraphol Thipjaroen was alerted to the video after the Facebook user claimed that the driver was a uniformed officer, while other commenters recognized the vehicle as possibly belonging to Lt Col Pornthep Putluecha, a police officer who allegedly has a history of mental health issues.

I like how they don't talk about him blocking the bike on the right(though, the bike should never have been there, probably an idiot going to do an illegal uturn) and then opening his door to make the bike hit the concrete wall that is making the road less wide about 3-4meters in front of them.

That's pretty much all there is to the video, the erratic driving is from him trying to run away from the bike that didnt end up dead as he intended.

...........a police officer who allegedly has a history of mental health issues............

Really, nothing more to say here!

"while other commenters recognized the vehicle as possibly belonging to Lt Col Pornthep Putluecha, a police officer who allegedly has a history of mental health issues."

at least he was sober unlike the rest of the BIB... wonder if he carries a Glock or 45 automatic?

maybe he is in charge of interrogations?

“I have ordered Phuket City Police to investigate the matter and will check with Phang Nga Provincial Police about what needs to be done, as Col Pornthep works in their jurisdiction,” Col Teeraphol said. “If it is necessary, we will request that the officer seeks treatment.”
How about taking his gun away? please.

Don't they all have mental... oops, can't say that. TIT Nothing more to say!

What's the next headline, ' Police seek arrest warrant for FB poster and everyone who responded and defamed a police officer ' ?

"ordered an investigation into the reckless driving"

Compared to what, average driver in Thailand? I'm sure this guy would fall within one standard deviation of the norm.

'The video clip ... shows a vehicle continuously honking its horn while dangerously passing other cars ...' But what was he doing that other Thai lunatics don't?

This just seems like normal driving standards here. Don't know why its news what so ever.

Ah,Just once I would like to read about a local taking the gun away from these axxholes then shoving it where the sun don't shine. And get away with it.
