Corruption Takes Spotlight in Junior High School

The Ministry of Education will introduce studies on corruption to students in junior high school nationwide, covering students in grades 7, 8 and 9, the ministry said yesterday.

The ministry will introduce a book entitled “Education on Anti-Corruption” as a reference book in the junior high school curriculum. The lessons will be part of the ethics-civics subject. The lesson will take eight hours, with four hours for each semester. They will cover the containment and prevention of corruption, accountability if found guilty of corruption and peer pressure to commit corruption.

Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron said that the program will kick off soon.
