PM Gen Prayut says he is considering transportation projects to ensure development potentials

BANGKOK, 19 December 2015 (NNT) – Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha reveals a number of transportation project are currently under consideration to ensure the country’s development potentials.

The prime minister said during his weekly televised broadcast “Returning Happiness to the People” that the government is considering transportation projects to facilitate four development aspects, one of which is to raise the standard of living of the public and decrease the amount of time and money spent on commuting.

He said new transport projects must facilitate an expansion of the economy as well as society, while ensuring that a balance is established. Moreover, transport projects must help increase investor confidence and Thailand’s competitiveness, while the fourth aspect of new projects should benefit the private sector’s investment as well. These projects could involve construction of parking lots, development of areas along rail routes, and setting up of new supermarkets and living quarters, the Prime Minister said, adding that laws would be amended to enable the government to make higher benefits from lands.

A couple of centuries ago transportation had an entirely different meaning !

No, surely THAT's not being considered . gigglem.gif

I can think of a few clowns in LOS who NEED transporting but I seriously doubt Australia would welcome them!

I just drove by car from Phuket over Pang Nga to Surath Chumphon and to Hua Hin.

This is the main South North axis in Thailand and the road is an an abysmal condition down right dangerous.

Here would be something to do for a government but not much glory to get.

does every one know who rides the bts that the rabbit card as of 1-16 will no longer give discount

rides, but charge full fare. way to go mr. PM, let the prices go up for transportation and let

the BTS make more money and provide less service. why does the MRT and BTS stop running at

midnight?? most cities the transportation runs 24hours a day. the city does not stop at midnight.

try and get a taxi to take you after midnight and you will be robed by the driver if you can find

one willing to take you.

the rabbit card was supposed to be expanded to be able to use on the MRT and buses. another major

flop, by the powers that be and the powers in govt. all to go on.

yes, the Thai. way put more burden on the people by charging more for every thing!!

the graft and corruption will never end and no one wants it to end no matter how much they talk.

the people who talk to stop graft and corruption already have more money then they can spend in

the rest of there life time.

Considering his options on how he and his cronies can skim off the top from these transportation projects is more likely what he's thinking about. whistling.gif

In common with the dinosaur, your brain has reached a conclusion a long, long time after the event happened. That was the dirty cronies and part of the reason Thailand has ended up in this mess.

This is Thailand : the reason the Military make a better government is that they have their own budget to skim off called defence. It stinks, but at least money allocated to help the people has a chance of reaching them.

Did you ever hear about the rice scheme ?. They gave the farmers 100 billion while they stole 500 billion for themselves and their cronies. Then when it all went bankrupt, lots of farmers killed themselves because they had taken out loans expecting payback.

I am so tired of reading about this dolt. Every <deleted> day ''Prime Moron says this, PM does that...'' sleep.png

. errr ... that's because he is PM. Maybe don't read the articles at all and then don't bother to waste your time writing pointless comments like that.

They would have done the same for Yingluck if she had ever been trusted to be given anything to say.

Thank you three times.

Micro management on a grand and unnecessary scale. Amazing situation, he wasn't just an an army officer, he was the top one yet apparently never learned how to delegate or does he not trust his own handpicked cronies too much ?

If it's some overwhelming need for publicity it's backfiring big time because of some of things he says and how he says them.
