Students ordered to report to police

THE NATION

BANGKOK: -- STUDENT activist Sirawith “New” Seritiwat went to Thon Buri Railway Police Station yesterday to receive a summons in regard to his attempt to stage a demonstration about graft at Rajabhakti Park on December 7.

The summons was issued after complaints by Colonel Burin Thongprapai, a member of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) legal team, against Sirawith and 10 other activists for gathering with five people or more.

The activists were told to report to the railway police station tomorrow, station inspector Pol Lt-Colonel Pakpoom Dechareungsilp said.

All 11 student activists were aware of the summons, Pakpoom said, adding that a second summons may be issued if they fail to report tomorrow, as requested.

Deputy police chief Pol General Srivara Rangsibrahmanakul said that the students could be found guilty for continual political activity.

Some of the students, namely Apisit Sapnapapan and Korakoch Saengyenpan, told The Nation |they had yet to receive the summons, while Chanoknan Ruamsap said she had received hers on Friday.

Sirawith said that they would later discuss for their "decision" on the matter.

Apisit and Korakoch said that they felt the incident was an abuse of power and that they may not meet the police, as ordered. However, the decision had to be finalised with their colleagues.

Keep up the good work Generals, could be your downfall yet... thumbsup.gif

(also funny as heck to see that The LapDog fails to mention the park at all, even if that is the whole point of this... cheesy.gif )

Or slavery? Or airplane safety?

Is as much effort going into the enquiry on this and other incidence of corruption ?

Of course not, the results of those enquiries have already been determined. All the effort now is to stop people "talking".

How many times does the NCPO have to shoot themselves in the foot before they get it.

Besides, weren't the students pulled off the train to protect them from a rival protesting group that WAS allowed to go to the park? I don't remember hearing they were pulled off the train for ALMOST violating an illegal law. And why weren't the rival protesters arrested? Lies beget more lies, beget more lies and then they all fall apart.

Meanwhile the mad monk and 200 nationalists that protested at the US embassy go free.

Reconciliation? Pure myopic claptrap more like.

200 ultra nationalist demonstrators?

post-233765-0-83108500-1450665622_thumb.

The energy time resources going into shutting down people that are calling for open transparent and independent investigation on a possible corruption issue is astounding while the country suffers from far greater challenges that said resources could be put to far greater benefit for the country and the people...

Priorities..................

If 11 student activists is the best 60 million Thai public can produce to exercise freedom of expression, it doesn't say much about the future for participatory democracy in Thailand. But it does say much more about the promising future for fascism in the nation.

No! those are ok and legal for them to do. They just had one in front of the US Embassy not long ago. And they were not arrested or even told to go home.

We protected the students from a group of soldiers heavily disguised as angry residents but since they were soldiers on duty they were not unlawfully assembled unlike these trouble making students.

We have addressed the lack of problem by arresting and detaining those who had no problems and were misguided, so we can prove the original problem was never really a problem, and that misunderstandings are the real of cause of such non-problems; therefore, we have resolved that inaction in the face of non-confrontation totally remits the non-issue and proves our adoration toward the Kingdom while simultaneously correcting the slight deviation that we are here adjusting while truly looking out for the safety of all bank accounts concerned.

Can they not just do a Suthep and pretend they were unaware and no one was there to pick up the summons, so the judge postpones the case until the end of February.

The students were going to make a "demonstration about graft at Rajabhakti Park"

Rajabhakti Park has now itself become a demonstration about graft. What started out as a monument to honour past kings has been turned into a monument to dishonourable military corruption, yet the military bosses cannot get their heads round the idea that they are looking in entirely the wrong places for the people dragging the reputation of this country through the dirt. Those people are hiding in (what is now) plain sight and are exposed thanks, in part, to the protesters. How about taking that famous "infographic" seriously and actually investigating its claims?

If they would have had the mad monk leading them with the staff of Moses they could have parted the police and walked through.

students could be found guilty for continual political activity.

All politicians could be found guilty of his horrendous activity...woooooooo

Walk softly students...egg shells are scattered everywhere...
