How many years are language schools accreditted to renew ED visas?

Featured Replies

I know it varies from school to school, but are we typically talking 3-5 years? Or 10+ years?

Visas are extended not renewed, it used to be for up to one year at private language schools. The rules have recently changed, so wait for a comment from someone with more recent experience.

3-5 years 10+ years keep dreaming.

Since they increased the hours to 400 per year from 200 it is now 1.5 years instead of 3 at the basic level. At the advanced level if was an additional 2 years which would now be 1 year.

By changing to a different language you could stay longer by starting the above again.

Good to know thanks!

My daughter is here on an ED visa under the new rules. She has to take the relevant paperwork from the school every 90 days for extension at immigration, a cost of 1900 baht. After 3 extensions bringing it up to one year, she will have to leave the country and get a new visa from a Thai embassy.

Very different from the old rules where you extended year on year.

I am also going through this. My question here war more about the max length of study time the average language school can offer.

Can anyone recommend some good schools for learning another non-Thai language? I'm in Pattaya.
