Russian Ambassador calls to Deputy Prime Minister to discuss ceremony celebrating 120 years of diplomacy

BANGKOK, 25 December 2015 (NNT) – The Ambassador of Russia to Thailand today met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister to discuss diplomatic matters.

The Ambassador of Russia to Thailand Kirill Barsky today made a courtesy call to the Thai DPM Gen Tanasak Patimapragorn at the government house to discuss the 120th anniversary celebration of Thailand-Russia diplomatic relations.

The Russian ambassador on this occasion proposed organizing a celebratory activity, while Thailand will consider the details of the proposal and will then proceed with projects that can benefit both nations.

Both officials then discussed ways to encourage tourism and promotions that would boost tourists' visits from both countries as part of a campaign to enhance mutual relations.

The DPM also expressed his delight regarding a Russian company's interest to invest in hotel businesses in Thailand. He says that this could pave the way for a deeper cooperation of the two countries' hotel and tourism industry development in the future.

Hard to imagine Thais or anyone else flocking to Russia. Imagine the "excitement." The comfortable Russian climate? The allure of Russian nightlife, films, and culture? Great Russian food? The friendly and intelligent people?

On education, Russia stands ready to provide scholarship for Thai students to further their study in Russia, and establish the Asia-Pacific Study Center at Thailand’s Far-Eastern University.
