NRSA spokesman denies any order for ISOC to prepare national reform plan

BANGKOK, 27 December 2015 (NNT) - A spokesman of the National Reform Steering Assembly has denied any order for the Internal Security Operations Command to prepare a national reform plan.

NRSA spokesman Kamnoon Sidhisamarn said that news reports which claimed that NRSA President Thinnapan Nakata ordered ISOC to draft a national reform plan on December 21 have been inaccurate.

Mr. Kamnoon said that Mr. Thinnapan has not said such a thing and that no NRSA member mentioned anything like that during their recent meeting held from December 21 to 23.

He added that he had reviewed the minutes of the meeting on December 21 which was in shorthand and found that the meeting discussed the next plans of the NRSA and then looked into the report on the national reform process prepared by the Cabinet.

Mr. Kamnoon said that the prepared plan proposed the implementation during a course of 20 years which will be further pursued by the next governments.

20 year plan for reform. Whoa! Slow down boys, you might get whiplash.

Internal Security Operations Command to prepare a national reform plan?

In view of the arrest warrants issued this year for four mid-level military ISOC officers (one now a Lt. General) for human trafficking, a reform plan might be a timely idea to take corruption out of ISOC. But then who would left to counter the Malay-Thai insurgency?
