Thian
10.000.000 baht fines for 150.000 illegal advertisings makes 66 baht each. Sure that will stop them After a storm those advertisings are flying all over the roads causing many accidents and damage.
Seastallion
There you go...revenue. Easy revenue. Now you may be inspired to redouble your efforts at quadrupling the revenue by all out war on parking infringements etc.

Illegal advertisings cause at least 10 times more damage to roadusers and it's time it gets stopped. BKK traffic is dangerous enough allready. Sydebolle
Apart from the collection of THB 64.95 as a revenue, the costs against it is Somsak on the ladder - each an every time. Regulate the subject and ensure adherence - if latter fails, fine the culprits painfully. Would work but I am forgetting - TIT
Ulic
Of course they do collect a tidy sum and can you imagine what the figure would be if they were able to collect all fines from people stopped by police. (with no skim, by the police)
orchidlady
How about fining BKK city for holes in sidewalks, exposed wiring all the things that cause people who are walking to get injured? Oh, it's only one way...only admin can fine people? hope all injured people then sue them. The money wasted on city hall lights could have gone long way to fixing some of these problems. That might happen one day with so many old farang here who have healthcare insurances worldwide. On the sidewalks i am always very alert for all the dangers but when my father was here he walked into a trolley in a mall, it was from Swenssen and just in a walkway. He hurt his leg which had just been operated and had steel pins in it. But what if a farang walks into a low hanging umbrella-pin inside a Central mall and looses an eyeball. He will go to Bungumrad hospital and that won't be cheap. His insurance wants to get the money back from Central and will hire lawyers to get it i guess. Has something like that not happened allready? Central malls are very safe though compared to the local markets in the subs.
