Sent Home at the Consulates Expense…

The joint Danish-Norwegian Consulate in Pattaya has experienced a 40% increase in activity this year. If the tendency continues the Consulate will be able to look back on 2006 with a total of 1300-1400 cases or applications.

Great reporting!

If you'd actually read the article, you might have noticed that the 1300-1400 cases have absolutely nothing to do with people being "sent home at the Consulate's Expense".

i think the French are the only country who repatriated people in case of hardship !

and have a system of rehabilitation ...

not 100 % sure , any other ?

for the normal west-euro countries;

ALL will first ask about travel-insurance. even if ALL other means are exhausted (they WILL contact your family to cough up!] then they give out a LOAN which is equal to a tax- and thus will involve same measures as tax-evasion if not paid back in time.

again this shows that going out without normal/basic travelinsurance to cover this is well, uh, not the smartest of thinsg to do
