BANGKOK, 12 January 2015 (NNT) –- The vice president of the National Reform Steering Assembly has discussed ideas related to the charter drafting with the President of the Constitution Drafting Commission.

NRSA’s Vice President Alongkorn Ponlaboot on Monday met with CDC President Meechai Richupan who was joining a retreat in Phetchaburi Province to discuss the planned submission of charter drafting-related ideas.

Mr. Alongkorn said that the first set of the ideas will be submitted to the CDC this week before the NRSA will collect more opinions which are slated to be presented to the charter drafters after the first draft of the new Constitution is ready for public disclosure on January 29.

He said that the second set of ideas will be about the reform agendas and short- and long-term reform mechanism which are all prepared to make sure that all efforts will really be included in the new Constitution.

In addition, Mr. Alongkorn said that Mr. Meechai has confirmed him that the national strategies must be included in the new draft charter while commenting that the proposed setting up of a peace promotion committee is a good idea and all should support it.
