webfact Posted January 12, 2016 Share Posted January 12, 2016 Drunk Belgian Involved in East Pattaya Road CrashPATTAYA: -- A Belgian was lucky to escape prosecution in the early hours of Tuesday after he drove his high-powered motorbike into parked bikes and a pick-up causing damage to each of the vehicles involved.Police were called to the incident at the intersection with Soi Neun Plub Wan on the railroad running along the East-side of Pattaya, just before 2.30am. In any civilised country the prat would have had to pay for all the damage and he would have been arrested, prosecuted and fined, and possibly given a jail sentence and had his licence suspended. There was supposed to be a change in the way police dealt with drunk drivers, but it appears that 'crackdown' only lasted for a week. If you think it's OK for drunk drivers to be able to remain on the roads by avoiding severe fines/bans, that's up to you.
