Countrywide project commemorates two decades of genocide research

In commemoration of the Documentation Center of Cambodia’s 20th anniversary this year, the genocide research group has set up over a dozen educational information boards throughout Cambodia focused on the Khmer Rouge era.

According to DC-Cam director Youk Chhang, the boards, set up in provincial museums and high schools, were aimed at young minds. “One of our strategies now is relating to the youth,” he said. Chhang added that the boards, which feature archival photographs and survivor testimonies collected by DC-Cam researchers over the past two decades, were expected to engage over 1,000 students.
