Nope. You don't have the right to a passport. Countries issue them and can take them away or cancel them.

I have a hard time understanding why a Congressional committee in the US would care why this ex-energy minister showed up or not? What Congressional committee is it? If they are concerned about human rights in Thailand, they should be asking Yingluck. On the other hand, can't imagine what some committee in the US would care much.
