Hello guys !

I'm planning to go to Hong Kong as soon as my thai visa expires, in the beginning of february. I had 2 thai visas back to back last year (1 single entry and 1 triple entry = 12 months).
I just want to apply for a single entry tourist visa (2 months) and leave Thailand in april.

- I couldn't find any recent reports in Hong Kong. Is this consulate ok to get a single entry tourist visa ? Even with my previous visas ?
- If yes do you know how long it is for passport collection as soon as we drop it ? Is this possible in 1 single day ?

Thank you so much

Confirmed closed February 8. 9 and 10th. See: http://www.thai-consulate.org.hk/internet/attachments/680.pdf

They will do a single entry visa. No report of people having a problem that had several visas before. You will need to show a ticket out of the country and possibley financial proof.

Select your country here to get visa info: http://www.thai-consulate.org.hk/web/3015.php?s=4049

Thanks for your reply ubonjoe.

>>>France : (French Republic) passport holder is not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 30 days on each visit.

but they don't talk about a tourist visa. On this page http://www.thai-consulate.org.hk/web/3015.php?s=4126 they ask for a copy of Hong Kong/Macau I.D.Card, I hope this is not only for Hong Kong residents...

Thanks ubonjoe for the link, Hong Kong seems safe indeed... But these Chinese New year holidays are really a problem for me, I'll try to figure out what to do.

What about visa exemption ? I was wondering if I could still make a one-day trip out and in Thailand by car to get a 30 days exemption. As far as I remember before 2013 it was only 15 days if we didn't come by air, then it changed for G7 countries (including my country France) who were granted 30 days EVEN by bus.
But I'm not sure it's still case since rules are always changing...
