Thai Airways adds more flights to prepare for increasing number of passengers

Thai Airways will add more flights in preparation for this year’s high season for tourism.

The Thai Airways President, Flg. Off. Apinan Sumanaserani (อภินันท์ สุมนะเศรณี), revealed that there would be more domestic and international flights during the winter season between October 29th, 2006 and March 24th, 2007. The number of flights has been increased because of the rising number of seat reservations and the recent opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Thai Airways has launched new flights from Thailand to Johannesburg of South Africa and Hyderabad of India. The airline has also added a daily special roundtrip between Bangkok, Buddha Gaya, and Varanasi. These flights will be serviced on every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from October 29th, 2006 to March 24th, 2007, in order to meet the demands of passengers.

As for domestic flights, Thai Airways will increase the flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai to 77 flights per week in preparation for the Royal Flora Ratchapreuk 2006. Moreover, 24 flights between Bangkok and Krabi will be raised to 28 flights per week, while flights between Bangkok and Phuket will be raised from 77 to 82 flights per week.

Passengers can ask for more information from Thai Airways at 02-356-1111 around the clock.

Hmmmm....as far as I know, there were still no flights from Phuket to Singapore and there hasn't been since the tsunami. Silk Air and Tiger Airways have been cleaning up on that sector.

more flights might mean for passangers cheaper airfare, we hope
