Major govt organizations sign MoU to fight against corruption

BANGKOK, 28 January 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with five main organizations to tackle corruption in the public sector.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Gen.Surasak Kanchanarat on Wednesday signed the MoU with the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission, the Department of Special Investigation, the Office of the Auditor-General and the Anti-Corruption Foundation.

The minister said the cooperation between the five organizations to combat corruption was developed after the government found corruption among high-ranking officials. From now on, all of the organizations would work together in raising awareness and preventing corruption in all aspects with the objective to increase transparency in the public and private sectors, the minister added.

Wow..

Sounds good. But where is the judical side?

Enforcement without penality is like bark, with no bite.

Set a ladder similiar to drugs.

Public Officals:

Bribes 5 years

Extortion 10 years

Collusion 10 years

Drugs 15 years

Organized Corruption 25 years

Yet another show but will there be any substance ?

Rhetorical question !

Universities should be included. I see what appears to me to be clear signs of corruption in Chiang Mai. The campus has new buildings every year that remain empty. A bio fuel demonstration plant that has never been started. Of course it could be pure inefficiency but I don't think so.

So still no repercussions. Should work then. We'll all be even more aware of it and that's it.

They want to keep all the corruption for themselves.

How's Prawin's application for asylum going?

Old wine new bottle. A MOU is a piece of paper with no meaning.

Whatever happened to the much heralded lists of high ranking officials which were to be handled by the PM personally ?

Stamped ' File And Forget ' it seems.

Yes the overwhelming desire to stamp out corruption is alive and well.

Yeah great!

Loads more acronyms and abbreviations ... yippee.

Wonder how much they'll cost to set up? whistling.gif

This will really scare those skimming at the top.

I wonder who's watching those that are watching them?? I know ... we need another acronym or abbreviation.

How much will that cost to set up???

Are we seeing a pattern here???? blink.png
