Govt to broadcast show on new constitution

BANGKOK, 3 February 2016 (NTT) - The government has started a new show to clarify details of the new constitution. The show will be aired between February 3 and 15.

Deputy Government Spokesman Col Taksada Sangkhachan revealed that the government and the National Council for Peace and Order have created a special show entitled “Unboxing the New Constitution” to air from February 3 - 15.

The broadcasting period will coincide with the time that the Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) will accept input on the draft charter.

The aim of the new program is to explain and clarify questions regarding the current draft. The show will air at 8:00am and 6:00pm after the government’s “Thailand Moves Forward” program. On Fridays, the show will only broadcast in the mornings, to accommodate the Prime Minister’s evening address, “Returning Happiness to the Thai People.”

I have the impression the media will take a pass on "explaining" the Charter, and they will let the Junta pontificate without rebuttal.

The Roadmap to democracy appears to be 100% authoritarian.

how many constitutions will this be now?

Will this disrupt the nightly ritual of watching horrendous Lakorn shows on every channel.

This may have the opposite effect on the road to happiness for the nation.

The amount of viewer turn out according to the Dusit poll will possibly be 99.7% , of course we all know the only viewers will be the faithful and arse lickers................................... .

A nice one-sided show to convince the people to accept this new version with a promise if it's accepted they can hold elections before???

Surely they will not have ANY people on the show arguing a different view of how it could work against them

Who, of the possible voting population, know anything about the contents of this charter and what effect it may have on them?

We will write and rewrite as many constitutions as necessary until we get it more or less straight (similar to our idea of maintenance of equipment, buses, etc.) in our Thai view of what Democracy should be
