Ministry of Interior to mobilize sufficiency economy policies in the agricultural sector

Jettana Pantana

BANGKOK, 12 February 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of the Interior in cooperation with the Office of the Royal Development Projects Boards has held a joint meeting to mobilize various sufficiency economy policies in the agricultural sector and rural areas.

Minister of the Interior, Gen Anupong Paochinda delivered a policy address to create understanding among related agencies on how to successfully implement sufficiency economy philosophies in various regions.

Gen Anupong noted that the Thai economy is making progress in many areas and the implementation of sufficiency economy policies will be based on the principles of modesty, practicality and self-sufficiency.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Kritsada Boonrat, added that the Ministry and the Office of the Royal Development Projects Boards will be tasked with water source development and a reduction in the cost of living. Water development will consist of revising water management and survey policies while the reduction in the cost of living will consist of creating a database of household expenditure and various recurring costs.

Translation - keep the agricultural sector at the subsistence level. coffee1.gif

Sufficiency economy policies in the agricultural area really means farmers are on their own to survive.

ministry of interior means police and vioient methods. Their will push ideology and obstruct farmer's creativity.

the world lives now in an era of a global capitalism, going back to feudal economy is not a development.

on the other hand ministry of agriculture or even ministry of economy suppose to know what and how agriulture should be run.

only in a very backward countries ministry of interior and ministry of defence run all public affairs. But that's why those countries are poor and oppressive

Shame... The common man hasn't the faintest idea what all theses unnecessarily convoluted terms mean. And they certainly don't agree with them.

If there is one incongruity in Thai culture it's sufficiency.

For example. In a restaurant Thais will order to impress, more food than is required. Go to a restaurant on the way home from the supermarket. Buy street food instead of preparing food in their own kitchen.

Spend more money than they earn, for the sake of image.

Insist on a new house, new car, to impress.

In a society that doesn't have the stomach or self control to say no, sufficiency ain't in their corpus.

Bangkok gets new light rail lines. The village gets a lecture on using less water.

Airbus ACJ 320 B3.8 Billion.

Is that sufficient enough for ya?

The most spacious corporate jet on the market

NB. For humanitarian mission.

It's all about power bases. Small farmers ate not the junta's natural supporters!
