Wi-fi Wazzat ?

I'm looking at apartments here , and one thing I really wanted

was in-room internet.

Point 1 , some offer LAN (with a physical connection) and some wi-fi.

Point 2 , I'm not a laptop fan and was looking to pick up a s/h desktop.

I'm assuming you can add a widget/widgets to a desktop to connect

to wi-fi. Can you ? What would I need.

Piece of cake to add wi-fi to a desktop

Two choices:-

1. A wi-fi PCI card that fits inside the PC

2. USB wi-fi dongle that plugs into any USB port.

Either will work fine, the internal card may have the facility to connect an external antenna, useful if your signal is weak.

Given the choice you would be better off with a LAN connection. More reliable and less chance of being hijacked.
