The sun has started to break down the oils in the padded vinyl covering around my three beds and headboards, so that the plastic has a sticky feel. I need to get them re-upholstered, hopefully in some sort of UV resistant vinyl.

Can anyone recommend a good furniture upholsterer on the island please? I have seen the work from one somewhere in Maenam, and to be honest, the stitching wasn't up to much.

I've used one in Maenam for a smaller job on a chair, which he did nice and for a reasonable price – he quoted me 500 baht all inclusive, but when I came for my chair the price changed to 350 only, as the job was not as difficult as expected.

I can second that shop. Just discovered it recently when I had some boat trampolines needing repair. He did a very nice job, having used UV resistant sunbrella cloth for reinforcements and UV resistant thread. And very affordable.
