I was told in Chiang Rai that I am within the jurisdiction of the new Chiang Khong immigration office and must do all my business there. Fine with me as it's a shorter drive.

I went for my 90 day report. Nice new office. Ample parking. Not a soul there. Friendly and helpful staff. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I couldn't ask for a better experience.

Sounds great, us expats north of Chiang Mai seem to be blessed with friendly immigration offices, I've never had a problem at Mae Sai either.
