ICT Permanent Secretary resigned from CAT and TOT

The Permanent Secretary for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mr. Kraisorn Pornsuthee, has resigned as a President of CAT Telecom’s board and a member of TOT’s board, in order to be fully committed as a member of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA).

Mr. Kraisorn revealed that after he has been appointed as a NLA member, he is aware of the responsibilities awaiting him at the NLA, an interim parliament which has to complete its mission within a year. Besides, one of his duties as a NLA member concerns the ICT Ministry. To make his tasks at the NLA continue smoothly, he has decided to resign from the boards of the two companies. His resignations take effect today. (Oct 24)

Mr. Kraisorn believes that his resignations would not have any effect on the companies’ managements because as the ICT Permanent Secretary, he still has the power to monitor both CAT and TOT.

Mr. Kraisorn had asked the executives of both companies to continue their works. Their resignations would halt management of both companies. Meanwhile, the information related to alleged corruption cases of CAT and TOT which are now under investigation by the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) can be retrieved by the OAG itself without his approval.
