Who wants to beat a billionaire? Clinton, Sanders clash

The gloves were off as US Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders took on frontrunner Hillary Clinton in a televised debate on Sunday (March 6).

The argument quickly became over who was in the best position to beat Republican Donald Trump in the Nov. 8 election.

“I think Donald Trump’s bigotry, his bullying, his bluster, are not going to wear well on the American people,” Clinton said. “We have to end the divisiveness, we have to unify the country.”

Sanders cracked up the audience with a joke. “We are, if elected president, going to invest a lot of money into mental health. And when you watch these Republican debates, you know why we need to invest in mental health.”

The debate in Flint, Michigan, which is suffering a water contamination and public health crisis, also touched on trade and the auto industry bailout, race and religion. Once again, Clinton hit hard at Sanders on gun control.

“Giving immunity to gunmakers and sellers was a terrible mistake,” Clinton said. “Because it removed any accountability from the makers and the sellers.”

Sanders has struggled to slow Clinton’s march to the Democratic presidential nomination since she scored major wins in Super Tuesday primaries.

And while Sanders won the caucuses in Kansus, Nebraska and Maine over the weekend, the former First Lady picked up Louisiana, which had the most delegates on offer — meaning her lead of about 200 pledged delegates remains essentially unchanged.

I love the title of this article. For those who think the Clintons are not extremely wealthy in their own right, how does $125 million net worth sound? (80 for Bill and 45 for Hilary). They did not make their money by building companies that make things of value for the community or industries that create jobs. By comparison, Mitt Romney, who made his fortune in business is worth $250 million.

Sanders is the only one in this contest with a relatively low net worth at less than a $1 million. He's really the only one who can claim to want to "beat the billionaires."

If you want sources: Forbes & celebrity net worth.

What amaze me about people...and not only because Trump.

Every smart con artists, charlatans, dishonest scammers, showing wealth and success, will get a lot of followers and admiration without concerns about its sources, morals, past, etc. Instant admiration, even from "intelligent" people, reporters, media, etc.

The same with Clinton... a very smart, experienced speaker, who knows how to manipulate minds. A natural liar.

Sanders? It is a truly leader..but...for most people..too good and too honest to be true. The world is not ready for him yet. Unfortunately.

I watched most of this debate live.

My conclusion is if this is the best the Democrats can come up with, they are in a serious hole.

Two tired, old lifelong Democrats engaging in a shouting match doesn't bode well for the Democrat side of the aisle.

Sanders may be a socialist but at least he seems sincere, besides the US is already quite socialist and bankrupt to boot so it isn't like he could do any more fiscal damage.

Hilary apart from coming across as a wall st stooge has too much shady baggage and is a vicious war monger, amazing how people can put on the blinders and ignore all that. Almost anyone is a better choice than her.
