BANGKOK: -- Seven engineering freshmen were injured and rushed to hospital yesterday after a large tree fell onto a bench they were sitting on at the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University.

Two among them were seriously injured, including Jirat Sanga-areekul who suffered from a cracked skull, broken ribs, broken arm and a spinal fracture while his friend Channat Amornwasin suffered a cracked skull and broken collarbone.

Jirat and Channat’s conditions were described as stable. They are still receiving treatment at Chulalongkorn Hospital, while two others suffering less severe injuries are expected to be released today.

Uranus in Taurus + Eclipse...

Seriously, I hope they all get well soon without consequences.

Tree of knowledge?

probably some bad foreign tree type!

just kiddin, i'm sorry to hear about the cracked skull, seems serious to me...............

Maybe this is why Thais pollard trees to the ridicule of foreigners which was the topic of a silly thread,,why do "Thais hate trees so much?"

I hope they weren't climbing it in anticipation of the Summer Storms despite the government warnings given earlier. I hope there are no instable big sign boards on campus too!

How could that happen? In my experience Thais usually know very well which branches or trees need to be cut (except when there is a bad storm).

something else for the thais to worry about old trees this should certainly wake them up I am glad these people were insured what a catastrophy .

Bad Karma? Time to go make merit? Take an Easter Basket to the local Temple?

Or is this just an example of: "Two objects can not occupy the same space at the same time".
