webfact
Dr Wisanu says General Prayut and General Prawit is not the next prime ministerBANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister Wisanu Krea-ngam assured on Thursday that either Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha or his deputy, General Prawit Wongsuwan, will not be the next prime minister as widely speculated. “Don’t be worried. Both the prime minister and General Prawit have assured that they will not accept the next premiership,” said Dr Wisanu. He went on saying that the National Council for Peace and Order was fully aware of the fierce criticisms against its proposed amendments to the charter draft sent to the Constitution Drafting Committee and decided to make public full details of the proposal.Meanwhile, CDC chairman Meechai Ruchupan said he expected the proposed amendments to the provisional chapter of the charter draft to be resolved on March 21 after which the CDC spokesman will make the announcement. He said the CDC was making progress on amending the charter draft which is now 80 percent completed.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/content/155609 -- Thai PBS 2016-03-
thesetat2013
Didn't P say before that he would not continue to be PM and that elections would be held, and at the same time, stated he would remain in the background to ensure his reform plan was followed? What is the difference between a person who says they won't accept a PM position and a person who sits in the background controlling a new PM? Nothing except appearance and misleading people into thinking they actually elected someone.
NongKhaiKid
Assurances here aren't worth the breath used to give them ! The PM assures he won't be the next PM but he assured previously he didn't want to be PM and there would be no coup while preparating for both to be put into place. Fool me once etc.

Eric Loh
That statement comes to nothing when any generals can stage a coup and become prime minister. Coming from Wisanu, I just laugh it off.
klauskunkel
Dr. Wisanu is Doctor of Astrology: Because the Moon is in the second house and violently colliding with Uranus, followed by a Comet of Unheard of Omens, it is impossible for either Gen Prayuth or Gen Prawit to become the next PM... unless of course they wear the correct amulets, in which case they could actually double-team both as PPMs.

Anyone who is mislead into thinking they are actually electing someone by now is more than a trifle thick, quite frankly. I don't think there are too many about, apart from on here of course. rickirs
Both the prime minister and General Prawit have assured that they will not accept the next premiership Whether true or not, the fact is the matter was discussed with Prayut and Prawit ! So what is Plan A, Prayut's brother Preecha as PM? And if there's Plan A, there must be a Plan B, Prayut and Prawit as Senate ex-officios?

candide
Dont be worried. Both the prime minister and General Prawit have assured that they will not accept the next premiership, If they "will not accept", it means that they consider that it is quite possible that they will be offered the opportunity to become pm. Hmmmmm....
laolover88
I am assured that the next PM will be the King of Laos, thereby uniting that country in a holy alliance. Deputy PMs will be the Kings of Myanmar and Kampuchea. They will travel together on white elephants to pay homage and tribute (and several billion baht) to the Chinese emperor who will descend from his White Swan Stealth Machine to greet them at Kunming Airport. More later when the moon comes out.
